LOVE Week #2

One of the only things I LOVE about having a child who's not feeling so hot is the cute humility that comes along with it. Levi doesn't think he needs me too much. In fact, just the other day he told me that. He said, 'Some kids need their moms, but when they turn 7 (he's almost 7) they don't need their moms anymore, huh?' Sigh. But Levi stayed home from school yesterday. And ya know what? He totally needed me. And I LOVED it. We snuggled and bonded and I stroked his hair and hung out with him. I think I might have needed it as much as he needed it.

Even though Faith is at a hard 'I'm into everything I can possibly get my hands on stage', sometimes the things she gets into turn into really cute things that I LOVE. Like this:

I LOVE this 'I'm guilty and I'm also not going to smile about it' expression:

Yesterday John and I were sitting in bed and I looked over at my elliptical trainer and I saw this and LOVED it:

I LOVE the person who thought up this invention:

It makes it so things like this don't happen:

Let's just pretend for a sec that I took this picture before I got my neat little pantry lock inventin, shall we? Because I certainly wouldn't forget to slide it over the hinge. Nope. Not me.

I LOVE this ugly t-shirt because it speaks for its ugly self:

But most of all, I LOVE it when we put the kids to bed and John and I snuggle up on the couch and watch our favorite shows together. Simple, but definitely one of my favorite things. TV, couch, snuggles. What's not to LOVE?!

Plus, our shirts match and it was serendipitous. And yes. I LOVE the word 'serendipitous' too.

LOVE Week

One of my favorite blogs to read is Denae's. She's funny, sweet and REAL. And I like that. I was even lucky enough to meet her at Blogopolooza. Denae is doing posts all about 'LOVE week'. And people are participating and doing their own posts. So, to follow suit, here's mine:

One of the things I LOVE are the weekends. I know that a lot of people like the weekends, but I can't help but think I LOVE them EXTRA. John is home, the kids are sometimes always happy and no matter what we do we have fun together. Sometimes we go out to dinner and sometimes we lay around all day in our PJ's and just veg. Either way, weekends are awesome. We seem to live for them around here at my house.

A few weeks ago, both my kids were sick with the flu. By the weekend, I'd sort of HAD it. John, being the 'Knight in Shining Armor' that he is, surprised us and took us out to Hardware Ranch and then to one of my favorite places to eat afterwards. One of the things I LOVE about John is his ability to 'get it' when I've had a crazy week. He'll take the kids, get us out of the house or let me have ME time. Whatever. How can you not LOVE that quality?

I LOVE it when my kids are all dressed up in their winter garb and they can't move. Maybe their inability to move is why I LOVE it so much. That and the fact that they look so dang cute.

One of the things that makes this Ranch so wonderful is that they feed the elk in the winter to preserve wildlife. I loved seeing the elk so up close and personal. They're beautiful and surprisingly tame. They don't feel threatened on the Ranch which is sayin' something since John couldn't stop commenting on their 'nice racks'.

One more thing I LOVE? John in any kind of outdoorsy/hunting/cowboy/winter garb/manly gear. He is totally sexy.
